Hi all,
Does anyone know how I can remove this piece of wood trim under my throttle? I looked at it and I am hoping there is any easier way than removing the throttle/shift cable from the motor etc. Is it possible that it disconnects right from the bottom of the the shift?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Rich

That's fairly easy.

Remove the 4 screws from the binnacle and then the 4 screws from the wood.
Split the wood along the crack you already have.
Remove the wood.

However, the wood looks like it is covering a larger hold than the binnacle can cover.
What are you going to cover the hole with?

Thanks Joe. Now I want to put new wood in, thats where the throttle cable issue comes in, any ideas here? the hole for the throttle is not too bad just needs some wood trim to dress it up.

The cables and wires will disconnect from the back of the throttle. You should be able to lift the whole assembly, get rid of the old wood. You should be able to get at the pins etc. and disconnect the cables. Cut the new wood and reassemble. I took mine apart several times when going through two different consoles.
