Hi,
I just bought an old 1980 v-20 outrage. My question is the two front storage compartment doors in the deck are made from teak plywood. It looks ok but I am thinking they are supposed to be fiberglass. Does anyone know for sure?
Does anyone own one of these boats that may have a picture of the deck in the bow area?

Thanks,
Carter

I have seen V20's in both ways. I think the early ones where done in Teak.

In the early years of production of the Outrage V-20, the bow locker had the divided two-part teak plywood hatches. Later, a mold was made to produce the fiberglass hatch. I am sure yours is original.

Thanks Guys,

I was looking last night and couldn't find a photo on the web.
Next question, I need a bow rail, does anyone know where I may find one?
This old boat I bought is nice. I am very excited.
The only problem that I can find with the hull is the bowrail is missing. The black stripe and the outrage 20 stickers have been removed,I need those also. The outboard is locked up junk but the hull is great. Sitting on a very nice 2000 model aluminum trailer. Need to do some clean up, touch up, and refinish the wood that is all there and in good shape. I am going to sell my Montauk and buy an engine. Got this whole rig for 3000.00 I thought is was a pretty good deal but mainly just happy to find one.
Anyway thanks for your help.
You guys are great.
Carter

Sounds like a great deal to me.
That's my 84 V20 above and it has 2 fiberglass covers in the front. One covers the anchor and rope. The other covers the live well.
I don't know about the bowrail.
You can get those stickers at Magic Brush
I put a 175 hp Etec on my V20 Grin
