Well, I've finished sanding, filling and fairing the interior and deck of my 13 sport. As I get ready to paint, I am wondering if I should prime and paint those areas or just prime first then flip the boat to work on the hull, prime and paint the hull then finish the interior and deck when I flip the boat back over. Any thoughts?

Rob , I always do the bottom first. Not sure why but that is the way I do it. BG

If you have a good solid "non-marring" surface to support the boat while you have it upside down, I would finish the interior as long as you are that far along. On my project, I stripped the interior then flipped the boat and did the hull work. Then the boat was flipped right side up and supported on the trailer for the interior portion.

I just flipped my project after I completed sanding and filling the topsides. I plan to prep and finish the bottom before I get back to finish the top. My reason is two fold. First I want to be really close to finishing when I start spraying paint. The bigger reason is that I can cover the sides and bottom easer while painting the top. It is pretty simple to drape a cloth down rather than trying to cover the whole inside of the boat.

Plus taking a break from working on the inside for a while could be a good thing. When you are finished with the bottom and flip the boat to finish the inside you may see something from a different prospective that may not have been addressed before.
