I just bought my Whaler. It is 13 ft Supersport and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to go about repainting the bottom. Can I do it on the trailer or do I have to flip it over? I would be grateful if someone could give me some direction.

If it's your 1st time I would tape off the trailer well w/ newspaper, drop cloth, and do it on the trailer, follow the line that's there with "Painter's tape". If someone can dip and hand you a small "Roller" while you are under the boat it makes the job easier. I use "Interlux" ACT ablative (wears off during the season) bottom paint.

Thanks for the info. I think a quart is enough but, do I paint it every year?

Also, how do I paint where the bunks are? Should I just push it back until that spot is exposed, then paint there?

A Quart should be plenty. You should be able to slide the boat back to paint under the bunks. ALso you can get some help and slide the boat over a few inches.

Only if you keep your boat in salt water (moored/docked), will you will need anti-fouling Bottom paint. If you take it out of the water during the winter you will have to re-apply "Bottom paint" in the spring before you moor/dock it again for the season.
