Who would be interested in a meet at Dobin's Island [Dutch Ship Island] on a Saturday afternoon in July? We could check out each others setups and get ideas, answer questions for each other and just meet new friends in general.

Maybe interested, don't see many Boston Whalers when I am out on the water.

Yes, I would be interested, but where in the CB is Dobin's Island?

That looks good as well has anyone ever been to this, good for young kids, and pets-Lab?

Always an excellent time. The folks at Whalertowne really know how to throw a party. Previous years have been at a yacht club, but last year it was held at the Jetty restaurant which has a beach “area”. Unfortunately didn’t attend last year, but I heard it was another fantastic get together. The previous events I have attended have had kids from all ages. This year will be the first that my kids will be attending. Not sure whether or not the restaurant will allow pets there, but pets have been present at other events – I would give Whalertowne or the restaurant a call to confirm.

Fishinliar – how deep is the gathering / anchorage area (low tide)?

Thanks – don’t want to get stuck if we attend – hopefully it will work out. I have seen some of the articles about the island, ownership, use, etc – but was always under the impression that property on the bay is “owned” up to the high water mark.

Not to distract from this thread, but I always thought there needed to be a Whaler raft up for the Blue Angels show for the Navy grad – the 25th (practice) is right around the corner and a great excuse to miss work…

That's a great idea and I would come for that air show or is it just a flyby?

Whalertowne basically hosed me on lousy diagnosis of my engine problems in 2009 and winterization service that I asked not to be done. So I'm not sure I want to go to their event that they charge for - modest that it might be. Oh, don't get me started.

I believe the 25th it is flight lines in the morning, refuel, full show (practice) in the afternoon. The 26th is the full show, graduation fly over on the 28th - http://www.usna.edu/SpecialEvents/CommWeeksked.pdf

Feeling a cold coming on!!

I'd be interested in meeting up one weekend in July. I won't be around the 16th though.
