I am new to this forum. Glad I found it. Unbelievable content and knowledge. I am considering a `63 13 footer with a 66 Johnson 40. NADA only goes back to 1970. Any other sources for pricing ?

You definately cannot go by NADA. Look in Boat Trader and others like it for some comps. Give us a little more info on it as far as hull condition, interior, motor, etc.

Welcome to WC!!

Firstly, what kind of condition is the boat in? What kind of condition is the motor in? Does the boat come with a trailer? All the safety equipment? What condition is the wood in? Keep in mind, if you're going to use the boat a lot you may want to upgrade to a newer engine.

Pictures are worth 1,000 words so if you can, post a few pics too.

Try looking at craigslist and eBay for comparables and see what the owners are asking for their boats.

Hope this helps.

I paid $1600 for a 1969 13' sport with a 69 Johnson 40 and a decent trailer. My hull was dry but the boat needs cosmetic fixes. I would think any dry hull is worth at least $1000, even if it needs paint or gel coat. A solid trailer and the interior wood is worth something. The motor, steering and controls.....hard to say.
