Hi, just got a set of side rails from Specialty Marine. However no instructions were in box. I am not sure how and exactly where these are mounted. There are a pair of short and a pair of long standoffs but can't figure out how this is installed. Anyone have a copy of the instructions from Specialty Marine? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

My 13 is missing the rails , but from looking at where the rails were originaly installed I would say the short standoffs would be the rear and the long forward.

Cheers,
Vamanos

I recently bought a Supersport rail kit for my 15 from Specialty Marine and had a few installation questions myself. Recommend you contact Eric at the company. He was very very helpful with me and he always got back to me very quickly. Can't say enough good things about this sponsor, the quality of their product, and excellent customer service.

Another thing I did to help clear up some uncertainty was to troll through the personal pages here at WC, looking for pictures of the rails with my model hull. I wanted to make absolutely sure I had things positioned correctly before drilling the first hole. I'm willing to bet there are more than a few 13 Sport pictures that show the proper placement of the short and long stanchion standoffs, as well as the proper fore-aft location.

I found directions on how to install the OEM side rails in the download section of this site. You'll have to look around but I think it was in a folder of "options" though I'm not sure. It was for rails that had fittings that were drilled through the hull. They are the exact rails that came on my 13' Sport.

LabCab is correct.

If members look through the download section, they would find the genuine Boston Whaler installation instructions for the Sport 13'.
I am not sure if they would work for the Super Sport but they will surely give you an idea how Boston Whaler mounted rails on a Sport 13'.

I just installed my railings on my newly restored 13 and mine fit perfect I bought new stantion standoffs from Specialty marine 1 1/8" and mounted the back ones 4'' above the little shelf and the front ones about 4 1/4 above shelf. I used the same stand off size and had no problems, Did your new rails come with the fitting to mount the standoffs through the hull? I did not see the backing plates available on their site. My boat has 1/2" plywood on the vertical when I mounted mine.
