Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and also to the Boston Whaler boat. I am told there is not much wood on these boats which leaves me with a question. I have skin cancer and cannot be out in the sun long, I want to buy a bimini top for this boat but I do not have any idea where to mount it because of the lack of wood. Does anyone know where the mounting point would be? The boat does not have any rails. Thanks in advance and also thanks for taking the time to read my post.
Go to this link, and scroll down a bit, you will find a wood locating diagram for the 15 foot hull. I am not, however, positive that this is the same for your newer model. Maybe someone can confirm.
I made small wood mounts about 3"x5" out of 3/4" mahogany stock, stained, finished, then mounted where the pivot cleats go in for the "Bimini" mount with "5200" adhesive and 6 stainless steel screws, they've been holding solid since 1992. Just "Tape off" to "re-finish" the wood when needed, You can see them on my "Personal page".
@John thanks for the link but they do not have the 1996 15 layout. That is the story of my life sometimes and surely my luck. *LOL*
Hey the pup looks really comfortable. Great pics!! Tell your wife the bow shot does look good.
@Matt, That sounds like the ticket. I am going to go that route.
Nice layout on the boat. The blocks look like they belong there. Good idea.
