Today I went out for a second time in my Newport. I Just rebuilt the carbs and was excited. The previous day I went to a lake but I could not really open it up because it was too shallow. Anyways, I arrive and all goes good until 3/4 ways through the trip. My stomach starts churning. Thats right, and I cant hold it. I got to go to the bathroom bad. No place to bank. In fact, I could not even stop because of the yellow jackets hitting me like bee bees being shot at me. They were really checking me out...I had to stay about 5 miles an hour to keep em off. kayakers everywhere and I got to drop off the kids. I cut the engine, jump overboard(cold) and hold on to the side of the boat. I was there for a while, just floating down the river. A few paddlers went by but i would move myself around the boat. My dog max is looking at me like im crazy. All of a sudden I look over and it is no turtle on a log. 5 foot gator. Im like 20 feet from it. Scared me but I did not panic. I moved to the other side of the boat and kept on keeping on. Whew.....
