yamaha 115

Member Posts: 13 Comments: 0 Joined: 09/26/08	Hello to all, I have a question for everyone. I have a 1991 yamaha 115 and it needs a trim swicth on the binical control and a new oil tank (2.8 gal.) The yamaha dealer wants 340 and change for these 2 items. Is there a cheaper place to get this and I know parts can be expensive but this is crazy. Thanks for any help

Have you already tested the switch to make sure that is the problem? Give Flounder Pounder Marine a phone call and ask them if they have a used handle or binnacle. Could be cheaper to replace the entire unit. Another option if the problem is the switch is to have a Yamaha dealer's parts department order you just the switch. If your dealer does not want to do it, I can give you the names of a few who will. To disassemble the handle see the 704 manual on my website (click on my name to get the link). He looked it up and came back with $53.00. If you decide to get the switch, contact Reid Jones @ Port Harbor Marine. (207) 767-3254.
