Its a very expensive, attractive pig with lipstick on it. Pulling out of the boat slip at 20,000 lbs...now that's a beast.

Amazing?? maybe??? come on guys.. take a good look a second time and lets really say what you all think. Seems alittle hasty to me.
Dont get me wrong, I drove a 320 outrage this summer and was impressed. Seems to be alot of competition in this area. thoughts?Wink

Don't get me wrong when I say amazing, I mean amazing, but it is not a boat that I have any desire to own. I have had boats up to 41' that we fished offshore and I don't think this Whaler could hold a candle to the comfort and the fishing setup my Viking had, it had room to sleep 6 with a galley, and I sure didn't pay $450,000 for it. All of the fancy electrical hatches and doors are nice, but probably not practical for ocean fishing. All that being said, I still think it is an amazing boat! Smile

yeah he said cruising speed 35mph burning 50 gph
and top speed 50 mph, i think thats slow for triple 300's Frown
but they're still testing props and engine height.

Kudos for some innovative thinking. If I had a half mil burning a hole in my pocket, and the build quality is anything like what I saw a month ago at the Atlanta Boat Show, I'd move along to Everglades.

it wouldn't be so bad if you could at least claim it was a house.

Why is every other boat in its class 3-4,000 lbs lighter? 900 HP and it's borderline underpowered. Lets see some true performance numbers on that rig. I'll bet top end is mid, maybe upper 40's & 100 GPH. With 900 HP, the competition is cruising at 50 MPH & 40-50 GPH.

But if your dropping almost a half Mil on a rig, you may not be concerned about fuel consumption. But I'll bet you would want to climb out of the mid 30's for cruise speed and top out at more than mid 40's. That boat needs either 350 SCI's or quad 300's.

One may not be concerned with the fuel consumption as far as cost of fuel goes, but fuel capacity plays a major role in areas like here where we have to go out 30 to 40 miles to get to the Gulf Stream

Its a very nice boat. But I see wasted space. Also some the electronic gizmos are exposed to the marine environment. I am not sure how long they will last until things break down and need servicing.
