Where to place Bilge and Bait Tank Overflow

Hey Guys,

I am doing my research as to whee i should be installing my blige and bait tank overflow.

Here on the west coast we normally use a large bait tank which needs a 1 1/2" to 2" overflow. I also need to add another thru-hull for the bilge and i was wondering what the best location woud be. There are two possible scenarios and i am interested to find out the pros and cons of both.

I will run the overflow through the deck and then out the side. here is a link where iposted it on a nother site as i have not figured out how to post pictures here:
