I have seen a few whalers with the Metal/Chrome BW Name and Harpoon on the sides of whaler where the normal decals would go. Where these ever and option on any Whaler? They seem to add a more antique look. Does anyone like these? Would I insult the purists if I put a pair on during my restore?

Not cheap and can only find them on E-Bay periodically. They were for some commercial boats thathad them on the hardtop I believe.

I found a set on e bay a year or so ago. The guy had several sets but only listed them a few at a time. He was actually selling them to off set his heating fuel bill as I recall. I bought mine for my low pro conversion project which would make a purist loose his lunch any way. The emblems have little holes to mount with screws but you could stick them on with tape to see if you like them, Worst case is you hate it and order new red decals.

if you can get a sample of the decal, i can get decals made at a local sign shop. i just did a restore on a 19' outrage and the decals are an exact match. i could have picked any color but i stuck wtih the standard red. let me know if you are interested, he has all of the patterns in his computer and can make them any size, any color. the decals i had him make were from a 1993, 19' outrage.

I have all the decals i just saw some metal/chrome ones of the right dimension that i thought would like kinda nastalgic. I have seen them on a few other whalers over the years on the sided and thought they looked good.

I bought a set so we will see how they look. They are 3 x18 so they should be the right size on an 18
