What diameter steering wheel did these boats come with ? This would be for a small console version . I think the model would be called a 13' sport ?
Thanks,
Todd

Todd,
The original wheel for my 13 sport is at my shop. I'll measure it Monday for you unless I swing by there over the weekend.

I just measured a steering wheel I have from a mid 1970s Sport 13 and it measured 16" in diameter.

The original wheeel on my 1976 Sport was 14 3/4" in black plastic. I have it if you need one.

todd,
It would help to know the year of your 13'...?
It would also help to know if yours is plastic or Stainless Steel...?
Steering Wheels like many other items change from time to time and sometimes even during the same model year.

I should have mentioned, mine is stainless from a '78 model.

I am asking for this info in preparation to purchase a new teleflex unit. The boat is a 1972 standard. I will be converting it to a console model. Thank all you for the feedback.

Todd,
The teleflex steering wheel is much smaller in diameter than the original wheel. I'll get the measurement from the wheel for you if my son is still home. If not I'll have to get it later.

My son measured the new plastic wheel that came with the teleflex cable. It's 13". I'm sure there are different sizes available. For a small engine I don't think you need a large one.

A 13" steering wheel looks better and works better in a 13 ft. Whaler. A bigger wheel is in the way, and has no advantage at all.
