check your fuel ball and see if it is still hard when it cuts off. sound like something that i had where the fuel pressure was leaking down.

sounds to me like some sensor or heat senisive switch is getting hot and not allowing the engine to start again till it cools off.

Dumb question here, is a Johnson 110 a relatively new motor?

I had the same problem once, the engine would start only to shut off a short while later. Turned out to be a fuel line issue going to the carbs.

When you say it will not start -- Is the motor turning over but not getting fire or when you turn the key there is nothing?

We all need some more information to access your problem. Does the engine crank after it fails? Or is it dead, nothing happens when you turn the key? Does the engine slowly die or cut out instantly? Die at high speed/low speed? It could be as simple as an air leak in your fuel line that starves the engine then after a period fills the fuel line and you can restart.
