I've just joined the forum, and also the Whaler family having just purchased an 07 320 Outrage, so let me start by saying hello.
Does anyone know what the third battery on the 320 outrage does? My battery selector switch has positions for 1/2/all/off but no mention is made about the third battery. I've read the owners manual and it doesn't say what the third battery is for. And my smartcraft system only reports the status of two batteries.
Any help would be appreciated.

Was this pre-owned? If so, did the OP have an electric trolling motor?

Welcome to the site and congrats on the 32!!! A very nice boat...I have 4 batteries in my 25. The original owner spared no expense when he had it professionally rigged. From what I've seen with twin outboard powered boats there should be a starting battery for each motor add a vast array of electronics, add a deep cycle battery or two depending on the amount of electronics, or windlass, searchlight, lighting or livewell-bilge pumps, etc. With a larger boat it certainly can't hurt to have a little extra battery power. Drift fishing all night 50 miles offshore extra battery power is a must. I suspect having your selector switch on "All" allows that 3rd battery to be utilized, less draw on the other batteries...

My 25' has three batteries. A starting battery for each engine and a battery under console for my electronics. They are wired to allow one, two or three batteries to start an individual engine.

Mike and TexasOutrage are correct. 1 for each engine and the third for electronics. I believe that the bilge pumps and stereo memory are directly connected to the 2nd STBD battery and always "active", regardless if you have your selectors in the OFF position. My 305 has a similar set up, but has an extra battery for the genset.

You guys were correct. I took my wiring diagram from the owners manual to an electrician that works for us, and he confirmed that the "third" battery is connected in parallel with the starboard battery, which also powers all the electronics, windlass, etc. This assists with the large current load coming from that bank. The reason there is no designation on the selector switches for it, is because it cannot be selected by itself - only in conjunction with the other starboard battery.
Mystery solved!
Thanks.
