I'd suggest wiring a new switch on the dash in parallel to the one in the tiller, that way you keep the engine stock, and also have a switch on the dash that does the same thing. (never hurts to have a back up) Unless you wanted to change to a keyed switch for security purposes?
Not sure about the backwards shifter mentioned in the other post, but remember reading that the controls are set up to be easily changable for counter rotating engine shifting....
Derwd. I agree on the starter switch on the dash. I would think it would be fairly easy. Don`t understand the backward shifter. If I bought a used Yami shift and throttle box that should solve the problem, although a Yami salesman told me i have to buy additional linkage for the shifter and throttle. I haven`t seen one of these motors, so I can`t say.
