I have 1981 Sport 13 and the bimini top is attached via the straps on the front and rear and screwed into the hull with two screws and clamp in the sides. Over many years one of these has come loose and the hole is such that the screw doesn't hold at all. I'm really new to repairs and hulls and wanted a quick tip on how to best secure this? Thank you very much in advance!
Remove the bracket.
Overdrill the holes 1 drill size.
Insert the short side of a small allen wrench (shape of an L) in a drill.
Drill out foam in the hole.
Suck out foam bits with a vacumn.
Mask off area with painters tape.
Partially fill with Gorilla Glue. (it expands) Fill in steps so it overfills holes.
Let cure.
Trim off excess.
Tap for the screw.
Reinstall hardware.
Will be rock solid.
