im restoring a 1966 nauset, strip it down to glass and getting ready to fair it and paint it . all wood word rebuilt now im wondering what size motor for it . not sure if a 90 four stroke is too heavy or should i go with a 70 [100 lbs lighter] any feedback would be apricated thanks
I have a 1970 16-foot Whaler powered by a 90 HP Evinrude E-TEC outboard motor. I regularly carry four adults and a lot of gear, so the extra power is appreciated. At rest, my splashwell drains are just above the waterline, so with my current setup, I wouldn't want to go heavier than the E-TEC's 320 lb. (dry) weight.
