Member Posts: 1 Comments: 0 Joined: 04/23/23	I am possibly purchasing a 1984 Newport '17. It has a newer Yamaha 90hp 4-stroke outboard. The power is within specs, but does anyone know the maximum weight outboard that the hull can carry? Thanks much for any advice/input.

Many owners have installed 410lb Honda 90 Four Strokes without problem. You will be fine with the 353 lb Yamaha.
