Load Rite Trailer axle

Member Posts: 7 Comments: 0 Joined: 06/26/09	The axle on my 2008 Load Rite Trailer needs replacing. However, the model number of the trailer is long gone. My boat is a 1989 Outrage 18 with a Yamaha 115 engine. Can anyone tell me what is the likely model of the trailer or how I may be able to fine it? I've tried the VIN number to no avail.

Member Posts: 28 Comments: 0 Joined: 02/22/07	I've had good results replacing two axles on my trailer (Magnum brand) by ordering custom-build axles from Champion. https://www.championtrailers.com Replacements were unavailable from the manufacturer, so I measured closely, drew diagrams and completed the order according to instructions. I wanted brake flanges on both axles, and the spindle-lube hubs. I placed the order and the axles were delivered to my door via UPS. They were a perfect bolt-on solution. I had also ordered new hubs, etc. and assembly took a day, with help, to replace both. Depending on the type of axle you are looking for, this might be a good solution. Note that my experience was pre-pandemic. Not sure what the turn-around time is these days.

Member Posts: 752 Comments: 4 Joined: 12/31/06	Wow, an axle on a 2008 Load Rite trailer fails. Completely unacceptable. Junk metal. Time to think outside of the old box and repair your trailer without putting the same metal junk parts on as a replacement repair. Go to www.etrailer.com. I recommend you look at the specifications for the Timbren Axle-Less trailer suspension. Get rid of the old axle. No more leaf springs. Fix your boat trailer right.
