Buying my first boat; it delivers in May. I'm working on outfitting it. Does anyone have recommendations for VHF & fish finder? Will be used in North California bays mostly, sometimes lakes, and hopefully just off the coast on calm days.
I would go handheld VHF on a 130. I have a Garmin Striker 4 fish finder that fits well on my 13. Have to decide if you need real maps or just tracks though. I use my 13 inshore only so tracks are fine. Have a Navionics app on the phone if I need it.
It seems like none of the major places I would use to buy from have the Raymarine Dragonfly 5 pro or 7 pro in stock and that includes amazon and bass pro. Some other web sites claim to have them but I am not familiar with those places. I hope they become available again this unit is great for smaller boats and kayaks. We have 2 in my family.
