I am redoing all the electric and am thinking of eliminating both lights in favor of a t Top mounted Nav / anchor light.
It's my understanding that a boat of this size does not need separate forward and aft facing lights for nav and anchor - they just need a single 360 degree light for both. Is this correct?
Boats of your size need a Port Red Running Light and a Starboard Green Running Light at the Bow area.
In the aft section you must use a Single 360 degree all around light. It would have a way to turn On when the Red and Green lights are on when you are running.
When you are anchored Just the same aft White light would come on with the Red and Green lights turned Off!
If the Red and Green lights are mounted on the centerline in a combo unit, you can mount the white stern light either Port, Starboard or Centerline on the T Top.
If the Red Light is mounted on the Port side and the Green Light is mounted on the Starboard side, (separately) then the aft White Light Must be mounted Centerline only.
