1995 Guardian 17 Fuel Tank

Member Posts: 1 Comments: 0 Joined: 03/27/21	1995 Guardian 17 - Any Aluminum fuel tank issues reported? -Purchased June 2020; NEWLY repowered w/ 150 Mercury outboard July 2020. *Searching for replacement fuel tank (56 gal, aluminum) due to corrosion of original tank. - Fouled (3) fuel filters; had Marine Service Center drain tank and clean w/ detergent; I test ran and fouled fuel filter + fuel injectors. - Dealer cleaned injectors at no cost but will NOT warrant engine unless fuel tank is replaced. Any others with older (or newer) tanks experience similar problems w/ blockage of fuel filters and poor engine performance? Practical solutions? Appreciate any feedback available! KC

We can give you guidance if you DIY. Run on a portable tank to eliminate fuel supply. Pressure test your tank (2 PSI only). If you do need a new tank, the OEM, Florida Marine Tanks in SC still makes them to spec.
