Greetings WC!

In July, I picked up a 1989 Outrage 18' with a 1990 Yamaha 150 ETXF. I love fishing/crabbing and have been on the water as a passenger, but I am new to boat owning, operating, and outboard motors.

I love this boat and it runs great! It always starts. Is very fast. Has that 2-stroke smoke trail. But drinks a lot of gas and oil when running wide open.

I have been on the water every weekend for the last 2 months. Each time, someone will pull up next to me to tell me how much they love Boston Whalers or try to get me to sell it!

Now that cold weather is here, I plan to bring the boat home work on a few things that need attention:

• Navigation lights don’t work.
• Remote oil tank system doesn’t work.
• I have two round digital gages on the dash. The RPM is the only thing that works.
• Replace the water separator filter.
• Evaluate/replace sun damaged fuel lines and primer bulb.
• Install a Lowrance HDS9 Gen3.
• Winterize the motor.

I know nothing about any of this! But I can’t tell you how excited I am to research this site and figure it out!

Thanks to all who have contributed!

Big Mel

Greetings, Mel! The Maryland waterfront is kinda big ... But if you're ever in the Potomac River/Breton Bay/Cobb Island area, look us up -- several of us in this area. We run together from time to time.
