I've got a 1980 17 Sport with the original Striper pedestal front seat mount (Whaler part 12267200) and seat. This has a plastic sleeve that the actual pedestal fits into in the bulkhead mount.

Does anybody have a clue where I can get a replacement plastic sleeve for the pedestal?

I think this part is referred to as a bushing.

You might need to fabricate this yourself using either thin wall PVC or plastic sheet.

This turned out much better than I had expected. I discovered that these pedestal mounts were made by a Houston area company called Pick Instrument Products for Whaler. I gave them a call and i turns out that they still have a stock of the plastic bushings!

Anyone who needs this bushing can give them a call at 713-672-1686, push zero when the machine answers and get a live person then ask for Greg Pickens. Once he has your address and you send him a check Greg will happily send you two brand spanking new bushings for $30..0 delivered in the continental US. You have to send a check because Pick is really a B-to-B type of machine shop company and aren't really set up to do consumer type stuff like credit cards. Greg is the latest generation of the Pickens family to run the company and a really nice guy.

In the attached picture the "bushing" is the white plastic part that the pedestal sits in. The red bit is my own addition; I bored and tapped a 1/4" hole in the pedestal and put a round head set screw in to stop the pedestal from moving far enough down to contact the hull; the red plastic is just a screw head cover over the set screw.

That is what I mentioned in post #3 above.
See the comment #1 in that article.
Pick Instrument.

Glad we were able to help you and thanks for the update on the bushing.
