I’m going to put a little swim step ladder on my sport 15. Any body have an idea how to attach and seal to the transom?

Don't do it, buy a ladder. There is no real way to properly attach one with through bolts, etc.

15 Sport owners typically select these two types:

Install either a swim platform with a folding ladder like this:

Or a use an over-gunnel telescoping hook ladder like this:

What they do not show is how it is attached. The one on my 18' they scooped out the foam to through bolt it correctly at the dealer. Now I have to fix that mess.

I spoke to Ray Martin, owner of Martin Marine Design.

"The upper four bolts are all through bolted. Lower four are screwed into transom. Lower bolts don't see much tension since all of the weight is carried by the upper through bolts."

Properly sealed with marine sealant, I don't see an issue.

No pressure when climbing up or down on lower bolts....what about catching air and landing? That is a LOT of stress on the lower lags.
