1. Use the full 4 digit year for everything you are asking your question about. Example: 1962, 1988, 2000, 2011

Member Posts: 8 Comments: 0 Joined: 01/25/20	I am working on my classic 1967 13' Whaler. One of the items I am trying to upgrade is the steering. All was going well until I ran into this issue. The curvature of the transom prevents the new cable steering from extending as much as needed. Anyone dealt with this challenge yet? I have a picture but I don't see how to post it...

Member Posts: 1926 Comments: 16 Joined: 05/02/08	You can't use tilt tube cable mounting with that old Merc. The readily available transom mount that Phil mentions is the way to do it. This was probably originally installed by Whaler anyway. You may even find the old mounting holes. http://www.surplusunlimited.com/mm5/m...e=2200-900
