The sump cover kept the pump in the right orientation. I zip tied the bilge hose (smooth inside, not ribbed) to the steering cable. Use velcro if you need to.
Cinching and positioning the discharge hose a real plus. However, when the water comes in, and the pump cannot keep up, they like to float/walk. I had a small piece of 3/8" aluminum that I drilled and tapped for the pump mounting, then arranged the the hose, then used BoatLife LifeSeal on the bottom of the plate.
