Hello all, I am new to this site and new to Boaton Whaler. I am an avid boater and have had many different boats and motors over the past 40 years. However this is my first Boston Whaler and first Verado endeavor so I thought I would go right to the source, the owners. I am expecting delivery of a new 2019 270 Vantage, which I purchased at the Norwalk boat show at the end of last season, with twin 225 Verados in April. So far the dealer has been great and I have no complaints, however something he brought up this weekend has baffled me. According to him the refrigerator only runs off the 12 volt system and nothing else. This is concerning to me because I did get the shore power hook up and the battery charger/inverter options. He is telling me that since the fridge only runs off the house battery that when at sea the battery will be drained in about 4 hours rendering the fridge and all other equipment , such as the VHF, Chart plotter, radio etc.. Dead.. And I should consider adding a 4th battery to the boat. As I stated I have had a few boats in my time most of them with refrigerators and never did I have to worry about my battery Dieing. My other boats worked off of 110 shore power at the dock and the 12v system at sea and on an average day of 5 to 8 hours at sea no issues. So Question 1- has anyone had issues with dieing batteries due to using the refrigerator at sea, and if so did adding the 4th battery combat this?? Question 2- How do you like the Verados compared to other engine manufactures you may have had?

I would ask for a complete schematic of the electrical hookups, charging system, etc..... Know which battery does what and how the cross connections occur. Refrigerator would be on a house battery and your electronics should be on a dedicated battery free from fridge, anchor winches, starting, bilge pumps, wash down pumps, etc.... I am not familiar with the exact specs of your fridge. Hopefully they are using the Blue Sea ACR Battery isolation system for multiple batteries. I run a 2 battery system for my 22' 1979 Revenge. My starting battery has all my house battery functions. My second battery is strictly electronics. My Penn Yan has 3 batteries with an inboard motor. Two batteries in parallel for starting and all other functions. Again my electronics are isolated. Both boats are wired with the Blue Sea charging/isolation system.
