I just rewired my bow lights but used the original bulb fixture. Decided to go with an LED bulb to reduce amperage draw. I bought a Sylvania LED festoon bulb and when I hit the switch the first time, it worked just fine.
Did some more work on the boat and now I tried it again, nothing. Checked power and ground. All good. Installed an incandescent bulb and it came on when the switch was hit.
Anyone else have issues with LED festoon bulbs?
Im looking to replace the bow light bulbs on my 1989 18' Outrage. The one that isn't working is stuck. Im sure it will be destroyed taking it out. Does anyone know what part # I will need?
Guitarfish, I don't remember turning the bulb around, I should have tried that. I'll give it a shot tonight.
It's definitely got juice and good ground. The incandescent worked fine. Maybe I fried the LED having it in upside-down? Trial and error I suppose.

If you search in the forum search tab for bow light or festoon, I found a few threads that had the replacement parts for several different models. Not sure what kind yours takes, Bob. But if it's similar to the 13' model like I have I definitely found the part links in the forum threads.
