Ok. After coming up with the plan to replace rail both base and red insert....received the screws ordered. I was surprised they were flat head, countersink. Countersink into what? The base is that stiff plastic material. I thought an oval head might arrive....I was surprised to get countersink. Those that have used screws instead of rivets...do you recall the screw used? Size and type? Thanks
(I did a search on "rubrail screw size". Third result)
You can chamfer the edges of the receiver with the right bit in your drill. Clamp the receiver in place, drill the pilot hole then chamfer and then install screw. Repeat. Having a second drill helps avoid bit changes.
