Just Bought a 1973 Boston Whaler Outrage, I believe that tank is damaged because of the age may have water . There is a custom gas tank that sits in the back of the boat. I'm thinking of replacing original, where can i buy a new tank and does anyone have an idea how much this would cost how hard would this be to install ? Im in Calif. close to Monterey , looking for a service shop that specializes on Boston Whalers. Any references ?
While the original tank is still made by the OEM company, they are in NC and shipping is more than the cost of the tank.
What is recommended is to remove the tank (DIY-able) and take it to a local fabricator. It is pretty straighforward for them to do. Prices run ~$1000-$1500.
