I am looking for two parts needed for refurbishing a 1988 18 Outrage. The specific parts are for two panels located on the center console. They are described by Whaler as Panel-Switch-Port and Panel-Switch-Starboard. The original Whaler parts numbers were 12344600 and 12345600 but both have been discontinued, as would be the case for the age of the part. Thanks.
(edited subject for specificity)

Are you looking for the blank instrument panels or ones already cut with switches installed?
Blank panels can be obtained.
Have you contacted Sue Lodel, Parts Manager, Beacon/Twin Cities Marine? Best source for OEM parts.

Phil,
Sue didn't have a replacement part. She referred me to Ultra Panel Marine Company, a previous manufacturer, in Miami. They said the parts had been discontinued for years. Any other suggestions who might have REAL old parts ??
Thanks for your help on this.

Members have made replacements as a DIY.
The panels are aluminum. I would cut the holes for the gauges and switches and the corners first then paint with a self etching primer then Rustoleum black flat or satin finish.

I recently replaced a panel on my 1988 Montauk. Sue Lodel was able to provide a replacement.
Before I contacted her I was going to use a vendor called New Wire Marine. They will make you what you want and pricing was pretty good. The panels are no metal though. They had very good reviews on some other sites and were helpful over the telephone.

innerarity,
Did you ask Sue Lodel for this panel part number?
http://www.whalercentral.com/photogal...hoto_id=84
That is a replacement panel for the Classic Montauk, Outrages etc.
Basic difference is the white line layout.
Check the White line out you have.

Thanks so much to all for your suggestions. I talked again with Sue and she can find the vertical panels on either side of the steering wheel but the horizontal panels are not to be found. She again suggested having them made at Ultra Marine. Screen printing the names of each switch may or may not be able to be done. Maybe I can find someone selling parts from an old 18 Outrage and can obtain the panels that way.
I appreciate everyone's help !

Make them out of teak. It would look OEM and then put modern Rockers in it. I did that on my 19 Banana and it looked great.
24 Whalers so far.... |
