Hi, I'm planning on long distance trailering my 1969 16' Montauk and 2002 230 Outrage. Any recommendations for good trailerable boat covers? Rather not shrinkwrap.
The Carver covers are trailerable and I often use mine for that purpose. I recommend stopping after about five miles of trailering to snug up the new tie down straps. They will stretch and loosen the cover when new. You will need to repeat the this about three times on your first covered tow. I also like to check the tie downs anytime I stop for fuel, etc. just to be sure the cover is tight. A loose cover will probably be damaged and possibly cause damage to your boat or trailer. Once the tie downs have been used a time or two or for a day or two on a longer trip they will not stretch anymore. Tight lines!
