I am restoring a 1978 Montauk 17. I’m searching for replacement fasteners (Well-nut G-1028) that attach the windshield to the console. I ordered some on eBay, not right. I just got some from McMaster Carr that are the right diameter but the shank is too long. Also the “lip” is not as thick as the originals. Anybody got any ideas?

Dear Joe,
Thank you! Yes, I did miss it in the list. The link to Scott Supply is no longer working and I couldn't find the company through Google. Can you tell me where they are located, etc.? Thanks, and sorry for the trouble. I've struck out getting these on Amazon and McMaster Carr.

I ordered from them and what I got didn't match. It was not part # G-1024. The lip was not as thick and the shank was too long. The shipping will cost more to return than it's worth. The description in McMaster-Carr does not include all the dimensions.

You do not have the correct part number.

See the other posts for the correct part number as I also gave you in post #2.

Here are 25 of them on Amazon.

Thanks again, Joe. Yes, I put the wrong number in this thread, but I had typed in the correct number G-1032 when I searched Amazon the first time. Thank you for the product number, because Amazon does not list the "head thickness" and that's how I got the wrong thing last time. I see in the customer comments on the product listing you provided a couple of purchasers saying they used them on their Whalers. Good stuff, and I appreciate your help!

McMaster Carr sells G-1032 wellnuts in three different lengths. All of the dimensions Joe posted above are also listed on the M-C website, as well as full schematics. Some of those dimensions vary somewhat based on the length of the G-1032 wellnut, so study the specs carefully.

I can't find anything on McMaster-Carr that is even close to the correct dimensions.
They only have 3 listed that are 1032 that I see and have very thin heads.

What am I missing?
