Member Personal Page Posts: 13 Comments: 1 Joined: 12/11/08	I am restoring a 1978 Montauk 17. I’m searching for replacement fasteners (Well-nut G-1028) that attach the windshield to the console. I ordered some on eBay, not right. I just got some from McMaster Carr that are the right diameter but the shank is too long. Also the “lip” is not as thick as the originals. Anybody got any ideas?

The shipping will cost more to return than it's worth. The description in McMaster-Carr does not include all the dimensions.

Yes, I put the wrong number in this thread, but I had typed in the correct number G-1032 when I searched Amazon the first time. Thank you for the product number, because Amazon does not list the "head thickness" and that's how I got the wrong thing last time. I see in the customer comments on the product listing you provided a couple of purchasers saying they used them on their Whalers. Good stuff, and I appreciate your help!

All of the dimensions Joe posted above are also listed on the M-C website, as well as full schematics. Some of those dimensions vary somewhat based on the length of the G-1032 wellnut, so study the specs carefully. 19 Outrage II (1992)
