Replacement cushions for Montauk 170 fiberglass RPS
Any suggestions for Montauk 170 replacement cushions for the fiberglass version of the RPS? On Specialty Marine they have 2 sizes. My old seat is too short 38x19x3 in and not comfortable so I’m thinking of getting the larger comfort seat 38x23x3 inches but not sure if that would fit? Wish to find an owner who knows before ordering?
The OEM cushions for the Montauk cushions should be available through the parts department of your local dealer.
If you desire a different size, you will most likely not be able to get a close match to the existing viynal.
A custom size will necessitate a local shop.
Anderson's Upholstery is the OEM source for pre-2002 cushions and also does custom cushions for any model. They provide very good customer service and are highly regarded by Whaler owners. You may want to give Tena a call and discuss it.
Note that the OEM cushions are high quality and replacements are not inexpensive.
Thank you for your prompt response. Do you have the type of seat I am asking about on your boat? Or the older teak back version? My boat is on a lift and I don’t have a trailer because it was stolen. So I’d really like to just order one, install myself and have it fit. I’m just looking to see what size works with this seat back. The last time I ordered from Anderson, I got the wrong size and the seat is uncomfortably short. I think the 19 inch width could be the problem but it could also be that the height of the foam was too tall and didn’t let the seat rest further back? If someone tells me the depth should be 23 or the height should be 2 inches not 3, for this particular RPS then I’ll know that one will fit.
