Just purchased my first boat and why not make what I've always wanted, a Whaler.
The 1995 Montauk 17 has the switch is and wired down to battery for a bilge pump but no pump. Looking for a recommended brand and possible link to get one ordered up. Thanks!
I have a 1977 Montauk 17 and the bilge pump is an 1100 GPH Rule automatic pump.
West Marine/Rule info for this pump is Model # 17967506 | Mfg # 27SA | UPC # 42237104809
It is wired to a manual switch on my console and directly to the battery for automatic function. This is the type of pump that needs no float switch. It automatically cycles every 2-1/2 minutes for a second or two. If it senses no water/back pressure it shuts off immediately. If it senses water it will pump until level drops.
I was initially concerned with the automatic cycling draining my battery but that is not an issue at all.
Hope this helps.
