This is somewhat of a new post and somewhat an extension of my earlier post concerning replacement fuel tanks.
I have the original 12 gallon Mirax steel tanks that came with the boat. They are full of mix fuel. Tanks are in good shape. I repainted them 10 years ago. In repowering with a new 4 stroke, should I go with new tanks or somehow purge the original tanks and use them? I am contemplating the replacement aluminum tanks. Not an inexpensive option. Anyone have experience or an opinion?
You can add the pre-mix to your auto fuel tank and burn it up there. Add a couple of gallons of it to each near fill up of pure gas. Any oil in the resulting mixture will be so diluted (about 500 to 1) that it will have no effect on the car at all. You could also probably run it through the 4 -stroke outboard equally diluted. At 50 to 1, two gallons of pre-mix will only have 1/3 pint of oil in it.
