Hey all. What would be the best way/product for cleaning the corroded stainless on my throttle base as seen in the linked pic?

That material on the Mercury control cover is chrome mylar, not stainless, and it really cannot be cleaned once the corrosion sets in. But you can buy a new one here for very little, and it will look 1000 times better than what you have.

You should also see my ad for replacement "Mat-Tac" black leather grain vinyl for the space under the wheel between the instrument panels. It will make your console look beautiful and 100% original.

Sand blast it and either repaint it or have it powdercoated if its metal.

As I said, it's not metal. It's chrome mylar coated plastic.

@Finnegan - is that mercury cover easy to swap out? Does the throttle itself need to be removed?

No - The cover just snaps on. Very easy to replace. Not even the black base piece has to be replaced.

I removed the MatTac because it was coming off. Used razor around steering wheel. Did not want to deal with removing steering to replace so I’ll go without for now.
