I just purchased a 2018 Montauk 170. I was wondering if anyone has changed the console latch to a lockable one.

Congrats on the new boat and welcome to Whaler Central.
You may be the first member here to purchase the 2018 Montauk 170!

Your profile says you have a 2017.
Which one has the typo?

2018 was not available as a choice. No pictures yet. I take delivery the end of the month.

Didn't realize we were out of years.
Thanks for the heads up.
Added more years so fixed for now.

I have replaced both the console and the live well hatch locks to lockable ones. They are available at any marine stores but spendy at about $70 each!

rbyrnesjr Yes it is one of the first things I did to my Montauk 150 CC. I don't understand why Boston Whaler doesn't do that. I think it is a must to store valuables (fish finder/chart plotter and or personal items) when you trailer and park or when you slip or dock for a little bit while visiting/sight seeing. I lock my floaty boat key and car-key(s) and just have the little black key in my pock or change pocket of my swimming trunks
I had a hard time finding the lockable latch but was successful see https://photos.app.goo.gl/rqhcJ2IkAUh...kAUhAuKXz1
This was a Southco M series latch (as is the original) see I can't remember the Part Number but look at your current one and see https://www.southco.com/en-us/m1-fp?i...p;filters= for the correct one.
Not inexpensive like said above but well worth the investment.
