Hey everyone. On our annual vacation to Lake George my rub rail took a beating. The house we rented had a slip that was exposed to the boat traffic. A wake caused the boat black rub rail to hit the dock and pop out of the white track? that it is in. The white track cracked and is unable to hold the black rub rail in any longer in a small section. Has anyone replaced theirs? I want to address before I cover it up for the winter.
I got it back in, but it is not secured in the small section that hit the dock, as the top and bottom part of the white channel got broken from the impact. Please let me know if anyone has replaced theirs previously and any tips would be appreciated.

I already ran a new two ribbon bow light wire when I took the black rub rail off. Headed to Lake George next weekend and can't wait to put the boat back in the water!

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Billy

You have 3 choices:

Reattach the rubrail in the receiver and use a flathead screw to keep in place. Place the screw in the center and every 4-5".

Cut out the affected area and splice in new receiver. You will have a challenge getting the receiver seams to be hidden.

Replace the entire receiver.

Personally, I would screw the rubrail in place and move on. It's rubrail. It is supposed to get damaged.
