My original teak bow catch is finally starting to rot, and after a couple of years of minor repairs I need to buy a replacement.
I see two size options for the hatch. A large and small, but the two sites I found selling them have different measurements from one another and from what I measured on my boat.
Specialty Marine says the small hatch is 16 5/8" across the top (narrower side, with the hinges). It has the larger hatch at 20 5/8" across the same area.
Black Duck Gallery shows the small hatch at 17 5/8" and the large at 21 1/2".
On my boat, I measured it to be 18 1/2" from edge to edge. Are the stores' measurements supposed to be between the hinges? I'm not sure which part to buy.
I attached a picture for reference, in case that is useful.
The dimensions I give are from where the breadboard edge piece meets the planking. I use this location as it eliminates the guess work as to where on a curved edge to measure from.
