I am looking to get more seating out of my 1980 Montauk 17, I purchased a new front cushion and have a 65 qt yeti cooler with cushion I then have the original RPS so looking to make some kind of rear seating. I was going to build a bench seat that folded down into a fishing platform but the design got too advanced for my skills and too expensive to make. So I was told about these marine bean bag chairs. Was wondering if anyone with a Montauk has used these in their boat. They look like a very inexpensive way ,comfortable way to get two more seating positions in the rear plus still give me the options to pull them out for fishing .

I use a 128 qt cooler in the back of my little 150 which gives storage for extra equipment and seating for two. Not bad and when I need more space for fishing I just leave it on shore.
Can be had for $80 plus a couple of buck for some anti skid applications under-neath and I use my throwable (Type IV) cushions for comfort. Guests don't seem to mind.

I have one of the bean bag chairs for my Outrage. It is very comfortable, and especially nice for someone with a bad back. Takes some of the pound out of the Whaler ride.

Best Part of the Whole Boat .... Work Great! I have 2 E Sea Rider Teardrop Long Necks and an Ottoman. Along with a Magma Umbrella on the bow rail it doesn't get any better.

Jadoca - do you have any pics of that layout to share? Maybe your own personal boat page here? I didn't see one listed.

Jadoca, No need my man. I'm looking to buy a Whaler first. I'm trying to imagine setups and how I might be able to justify the purchase given a wife and four kids - they won't all fit I don't think. Your layout seemed cool.

I wouldn't give out my phone number for everyone in the world to see. or my email address either.
This site is all about sharing here, so a link to some photos you have somewhere or the manufacturer website would be better and would share with everyone here, not just one person privately.
