Feel silly asking this but does the Montauk 170 require drain plugs? Mine didn't come with any and I'm not able to locate with confidence an answer from the owner's manual or online searches.
If I want to use the Livewell for storage, to keep it dry, do I plug the drain hole?
You'll need two plugs normally. One for the anchor locker and one for the bilge. The plug idea for using the live well as storage is a good one. Do not make the mistake of plugging up the holes in the splash well transom area (right in front of the motor) as that area should drain after a splash. Also try to use the screw type T plugs as they are much more reliable than the flip over ones. For those who forget check out our plug holders at wetwillybiz.com
