So my earlier thread (WTB leaning post) was never replied to, no leaning posts of the mid to late 80's type available. I have been looking to new as it is about my only choice now? I have seen the three main suppliers , Todd, Taco and Garelick posts. Anybody have any comments on quality, etc? Am I missing anyone I should be looking for? I have seen the posts made by Action Welding and Welding World but not sure about quality, etc. Also Welding World claims to have free shipping which could be awesome for me, being on the west coast. It seems most all the OEM's are on the east coast. I think I want a unit with underseat storage, backrest and rod holders. Thoughts, suggestions?

I chose Birdsall and am very pleased with it. I replaced my RPS with it earlier this year. High quality and well designed.

If you not finding the right design, you might want to contact Ray Martin of Martin Marine Design for a custom fabricated post. His work and reputation are very good.

I have the leaning post I think you are looking for on my 1989 20' outrage. In addition to Martin marine, reach out to Eric Kent at Kent fab. He does great work. My whaler is at the same marina where he keeps his boat. He can copy mine and get all the original measurements. Just my 2c.

Great input, thanks everyone!

Stephen, great offer, thanks. I may do that but want to do a little more homework before I make a decision. I really do prefer the looks of that post. I couldn't find any literature on the post options. Do you know if it came with an optional backrest? Does yours have a backrest?

I don't know if it did. I kinda remember one. Birdsall makes one that friend bought for a 2006 outrage that looks great. I never needed one.

Let me know if I can help.
