Good morning, anybody could tell me what Ritchie compass was mounted on 1990's 25' Outrage WD from the Factory?
I'm trying to restore my Whaler as new one...
Greetings from Italy
Hello Finnegan, many thanks for your help.
Do you think it's possible to mount the binnacle on consolle if there is a hole of the last compass (suunto-13 cm)?
If not, can I mount flush version?
I have seen on 1990's brochure the flush version in the pictures but is very difficult to understand what Ritchie model is this one.
Excuse me for my english.
Welcome to Whaler Central! No need to apologize for your english -- we understand you just fine.
I'm sure Finnagan will be back with the answers to your questions.
In the meanwhile, if you can show us some photos of your Outrage 25 WD, I'm sure there are many here who would enjoy seeing it -- the european models often have unusual features that the North American versions lack.
You can use either the binnacle mount or the flush mount, whichever you prefer. The compass should be mounted on the steering wheel centerline.
Because of possible magnetic interference from the rotating cable steering helm, Whaler used to recommend binnacle mount compasses. Recessed is OK if you have hydraulic steering, which an Outrage 25 should have.
