Just discovered a fuel sender gasket leak that had been hastily attempt repaired on the port tank with some sort of liquid electrical tape or sealant. Leak is most obvious when tank is full. STRONG fumes in cabin when tanks full!
Access looks questionable when considering having enough clearance to remove & install a 32" sender.
Thanks Phil. Yes, 2005s had the smaller, round inspection ports forward and aft. However, they are only good for inspecting the sender and connections, not working on things. Starting in 2007, Whaler made the aft inspection area larger, 9" x 14" to assist with actually replacing the sender. Also, the sender manufacturer is WEMA (now KUS). They were very responsive at confirming and mailing me the correct part. If I had done the job, I would have made the access wider and put the above access plate. However, my yard made another small hole and cleaned & replaced the gasket...
Although I could have replaced the gasket, I had a yard do it because it is something the surveyor should have caught - surveyor is reimbursing for the minor cost...
