We have a new to us 1999 18' Dauntless. Has been a great time exploring beaches here in the Tampa area. I am thinking about trying to pull the kids (and adults) on an inflatable of some sort and wanted to see if anyone could verify that two kids (10 and 12) could be pulled on the proper inflatable from the ski pillow? We have the main pole and two side struts that I believe came as an option for the Whalers. Understanding that it is a "ski" pole, can it pull people on tubes as well? (My assumption is yes but you know what they say about the word "assume".) Have searched the net and not found any sort of "rating" for this factory option.
I would not tow inflatables from a ski pylon. The force needed to tow an inflatable is much greater than towing a skier or wakeboarder. Failure would be fast, dangerous, and expensive. I tow multiple inflatables using a bridle on the transom and skiers get the ski pylon.
