Was wondering if anyone knows of a trailer brand I should stay away from? I have decided to go new because I have found the used market to be very limited. I am guessing the trailer usually stays with the boat. I am buying it to haul a 1999 Conquest 21 I have under contract. I got a quote from a local marina for 3,695.00 for a 2016 Venture 5225. They said they have 3 in stock and they sell quickly. I am still waiting on callbacks from 2 other Marina's who said they don't have anything but can reach out to some dealers. I have found if you have a boating question this is the place ask it! Thanks!
LoadRIte trailers are built in PA. When I ordered mine the dealer told me there is only a 2 week window for delivery if the trailer wasn't already in production.
Make sure the dealer knows it is for a Whaler.
And you are right, the used market is slim. I thought after Sandy there would be plenty of trailers around. But the few that were available were not much less then new.
Thanks for the help. I just asked for a quote from Richardson's for dual axle trailer that will haul 5200 pounds which I think gives me plenty of wiggle room for the 21 foot Conquest. I am not sure what brake set up is on the Venture 5225. I have been told by someone in this whole process in Maine it is state law you must have brakes on both. The dealer with the venture was helpful at first but he has yet to give me a moment to talk on the phone for me to ask the specific questions. Online I can't find exact specs...
